Aftermath
August 9, 2008
The pictures from yesterday's Pyrex bomb look a lot less worse then it actually was. It took forever to clean up and I am still finding shards of glass in the strangest of places. Like the bottom of my foot. Serious.

The bread loaves got scared and hugged each other

Lesson learned, even though I knew better from the beginning. Another point on the board for college being a complete waste of time.

I can't tell you how badly I miss NotCot run food sites. Turns out making a non-glowing comment on a new feature on one of the better clones equals never getting anything you submit approved. Reasons quoted as being low lighting, underexposure, and off colour balance just to name a few. Sounds like only professional food photographers need apply to me. I certainly don't know many home cooks who own a professional camera, lighting setup and full blown Photoshop skills to meet their new high standards. Major Snobbery Lameness.

My Beeb comes home tomorrow and I can't tell you how relieved I am. It's been a week of thunderstorms, bad tv movies and boredom and I can't wait for it to be over.

Dang, that looks like a nasty mess. You could always try what I did last time I made bread. Toss a couple of ice cubes onto the bottom of the oven.

That certainly rules out my food pics. For one, I don't have Photoshop (too expensive for the Mac) and two, I refuse to edit my photos to within an inch of their lives. I suppose I will just stick with my own blog and Flickr for posting my pics, after all I'm the first to admit I am no pro food photographer. I just do it for fun and to share a peek at what I cook up.

Ah you are such a smart lady!

No doubt, we only have it because D is a designer. But I totally agree with what you said in the last sentence. That's really what it should be about.

And once I checked to make sure they were free of glass I baked them and ate them.
