Make Me Wine
May 15, 2008
Only five weeks to go as of tomorrow! Five weeks sounds a lot better then seven weeks did, so every week from here on in, I will be doing a happy dance. And then probably a sad dance when I remember I still have to find another job sometime soon--a good paying job--because, ya know, my expensive penthouse rent kicks in. But whatever, it only costs the same amount in rent a year as my current salary. Nothing to freak out over.

So on to other things, I picked up some cheese for wine and cheese night (a.k.a my most favourite night.) I got some Applewood smoked cheddar, which is one of my favourite types of cheese, as well as an Irish cheddar with Guinness! It looks so disgusting but I've been assured it is tasty so we will have to see. I figure D likes cheese and D likes Guinness, so D has to like Guinness cheese. Even if he refuses to eat things like fresh figs simply because he does not like how they look. I, on the other hand, have already been conditioned from birth to enjoy horrible looking/sounding things, thanks to my British parents. My prediction is that everyone else will refuse to eat it, but I will end up loving it and will eat the entire thing. Pretty much like I do when the Stilton or other blue cheese gets busted out. I absolutely will not eat block cheese after it's gone mouldy and someone has cut the mould off, but bring on the stinky Stilton by all means! (Although, the same can be said vice versa to the people who won't eat blue cheese but have no problem eating de-fuzzed marble. Except for the added fact that they are just pure disgusting.)
Really wine and cheese night is just an excuse for Brandi and I to hang out and get drunk together while Jay and Dave have a date. Except this time Brandi is bringing a new board game - 'The Da Vinci Dilemma' so now it's just an excuse for me to act like a raging jerk by breaking all the rules!
***Just a side note: Last night I was watching Rachel Ray (not by choice) and remember those sweet ass turquoise Pyrex bowls I got? She was using the same ones! Curses to you Rachel Ray! Your voice makes my ears bleed.***

I LOVE Applewood smoked cheddar. My kids love fresh figs, I had to fight them off in order to have enough figs left for Spiced Fig & Tangerine jam.
