Sorta-lution.
January 5, 2009
I've made a few semi-resolutions for this year that I hope to stick with. The one I am kicking ass at so far is my 'drink more water' but only while I'm at work because our water comes out filtered at the exact perfect temperature. It's 12 O'Clock and I've already forced down my 8-8 ouncers. That is an all time record for me! But I still feel thirsty! What the hell?!?
I found this site called Livestrong that lets you set goals and record your progress. I'm using it to keep track of my resolutions but I find some of the calorie burning exercises a little weird:
19th Century Dancing (286 cals/hour)
Whirlpool - Sitting (95 cals/hour)
Worms - digging worms (381 cals/hour)
Taking a bath (143 cals/hour)
Taking a shower (191 cals/hour)
Smoking - Sitting, quietly (95 cals/hour)
Tobogganing (667 cals/hour)
Applying makeup (191 cals/hour)
Bakery Work - light (238 cals/hour)
Eating - sitting (143 cals/hour)
Sex - Moderate (76 cals/hour)
Sexual Activity - Moderate (124 cals/hour)
Um.....what? I'm pretty sure sitting and eating cupcakes for an hour is not going to help anyones situation. And why exactly does taking a bath burn more calories then sitting in a whirlpool? They are practically the same thing! I'll spend all day sliding down a hill on my ass if it will help me fit into skinny jeans.
