Now, I'm not a fan of green tea at all, I have always confused 'lotus' with 'locust' and red bean paste most definitely sounds like it belongs in a burrito rather then a baked good, but I have to admit I've become a little obsessive in the past few days after discovering Evan's blog over at Bossacafez yesterday. I haven't the slightest idea what a moon cake tastes like, let alone how to even begin to make one but I am in complete and total awe.

It is THE single most beautiful piece of edible art I have ever seen in my life and I must learn how to make them. I've had no trouble tracking down the molds to form them in, but I've yet to find any recipes with more western-y flavors such as the coconut and cherry moon cake featured on her site. I'm just not adventurous enough to dive into the whole green tea/beanie paste and risk hating moon cakes for all eternity because of it. When it comes to dessert, I like to play it safe.
And so I add another quest to my ever growing list of recipes to find.
Moon cake, You and I are gonna go all the way.
